Dismantling a parquet board

Parquet is a fairly strong and durable coating. But even he can be damaged. If repair is not possible, you will have to completely dismantle the product.

The process of dismantling the floorboard

There are several reasons for removing parquet:

  1. The floors constantly creak.
  2. The room was flooded.
  3. A fungus or mold appeared in the dies.
  4. Under the material insects wound up.
  5. He looks very bad in appearance.
  6. You just need to install a new coating.
  7. Product damage.

During the withdrawal, the following factors are taken into account:

  1. Type of coverage.
  2. What material is made of.
  3. Mounts
  4. What the floor is made of.

The process of sex removal is divided into 3 stages:

  1. Removing the parquet itself. It is considered the most difficult stage.
  2. Removing the backing as well as the materials on which the material was applied (e.g. plywood).
  3. Cleaning concrete screed from debris and dirt.

What tools will be needed

The following tools are needed for removal:

  1. Chisel. It is necessary to pry board.
  2. Scrap. Also helps in prying.
  3. Hammer.
  4. Nail puller (removes nails).
  5. Ax.
  6. Bulgarian.
  7. Staple (for removing debris).
  8. Hair dryer (if glue was used for installation, the air flow will allow it to soften).

Step-by-step dismantling process

Parquet is a large number of small-sized boards. The installation process, as well as dismantling, will take a lot of time, since each bar must be removed separately. And if the material was glued to the base, dismantling it becomes even more difficult.

Attention! Manually, it is rarely removed; it is better to use a looping device (you can rent it). She just separates the parquet.

If the manual method is chosen, tools are needed. We do the following:

  1. We knock on individual boards. If a dull sound appears, these boards will be easier to remove than others. We start with them.
  2. First, remove the nails. If glue is used, the material is torn off with a tool (use a hair dryer to dissolve the glue).
  3. After removal, we remove all construction waste.

The removal process cannot be called difficult. Rather, it takes a lot of time, since it is necessary to work separately with each board.
